AACAsheville, North Carolina—On Friday August 14th from 5 – 8 PM and Saturday 15th from 10 am – 3 PM the Asheville Arts Center celebrates its 5-year anniversary with 2 exciting birthday parties. The Friday evening party will be held at the South location on Summit Avenue (off of Hendersonville Road before Long Shoal’s Rd). The Saturday party will take place at the Main location on Merrimon Avenue. Adults and children will enjoy food, fun and festivities. Teachers, students, program directors and families will have the opportunity to connect with each other and AAC performers in person. Both events are free!

The South and Main events will be fun for the whole family, a perfect way to enjoy time together. The Asheville Arts Center works with students of all ages, as well as local music, dance and theater performers. AAC birthday festivities will celebrate the last 5 years and all of the people involved in keeping the performing arts alive in Asheville. Adults and children can learn about upcoming music, dance and drama programs, including community theater opportunities. Prospective students can also register for fall classes, which begin August 17th.

The Asheville Arts Center is dedicated to supporting the community and intends to develop programs as the city of Asheville grows. “What sets us apart is that we see ourselves as here for the community,” states founder and director Heather Taft, “We adapt and create programs based on parent feedback. We like to fill the community’s needs not just be another ballet or music studio.” “No one else has the variety of programs all under one roof that we do and we continuously expand our classes and events in order to offer kids and adults the highest quality of instruction,” adds Director of Public Relations Michael Wilson.

Since 2005 the Asheville Arts Center has been a leader in performing arts education. AAC’s drama, dance and music classes for newborns to 18 year olds are some of the area’s most diverse and unique performing arts programs. AAC is also active in the local theater community and produces a variety of musicals and plays throughout the year. To find out more about the upcoming birthday parties call AAC at (828) 253-4000.
