Contest EXTENDED – Win Season Tickets, And MORE!

Help Us

We’re starting a new contest TODAY!

Here at the Arts Center, you might have noticed that we perform a lot of plays. Seriously, it’s a lot.

And we want you, our students, teachers, parents, and anyone else who happens to be in our audience, to LIKE the shows we perform.

That’s where democracy comes in!

Submit the show that you’d most like to see or perform in the comments below. At the end of January By Valentine’s Day, the AAC staff will pore over your entries and narrow it down to a top five in different categories (The Academy, Jr. Company, community theatre, etc.).

We’ll then give you the top five so you can vote for your favorite!

Winners in each category will receive season tickets, special mention in our programs, and another mystery prize we’ll announce when we post the top five.

If more than one person posts a show, we’ll have to go with whoever posted it first… will it be you?

Thanks for your help. We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Entry filed under: Adult Dance Classes, Adult Drama Classes, Arden/ South Asheville Classes, Asheville Local Interest, Asheville Performing Arts Academy, Community Theatre at AAC, Creative Arts Preschool, General Interest, The Academy Drama Conservatory, The Children's Theatre Workshop, The Junior Acting Company.

Tomorrow! Tomorrow! They’re leaving, tomorrow! The Academy and Jr. Company Return Victorious from The Junior Theater Festival

    Because I love you all.

I don’t know how you’d get scripts for these shows (except possibly through me…aren’t I a winner?), but anywho, there is a musical production of Babes in Toyland written specifically for TYA by Lisa Sikes and Reinaldo Martinez-Cubero. There is also a musical version of Snow White (with some hilarious numbers in it by characters like the Magic Mirror, three geeky boys, and Snow White’s sister, Rose Red) that is also by Lisa Sikes and Reinaldo Martinez-Cubero.

I think they’d make good shows for either Jr. Company or the Children’s Theatre Workshop.

Let the contest begin! (And you all know how to find me in multiple ways if you want more information. I can actually send you video of part of Babes in Toyland if you’d like.)
