Payments may be made using cash, check, or credit card – Visa, Master Card or Discover are welcome. Tuition and fees are expected to be paid prior to the first day of class. A payment plan option is available for some classes (with a valid credit card), arrangements are required in advance.

Withdrawal and Refund Policy

Tuition refund or credit vouchers may be given if there are extenuating circumstances requiring withdrawal from music lessons or performing arts classes. All refund requests will be considered on an individual basis. The cost of any materials, our $50.00 registration fee, and deposits to reserve space in classes, programs or lessons are nonrefundable.

Lesson/Class Cancellations, Absences and Make-up Policies

The cancellation and make-up policy is designed to be fair to both the instructor and the student.

Drama, Dance & Kindermusik
Students who are absent from a class, may make it up the following week by taking any additional class they choose. They will not receive reimbursement for the missed class.
If a teacher cancels a class, then a make-up class will be offered at a mutually convenient time, prior to the end of the semester. If a teacher cancels more than one class that cannot be made up, you will receive reimbursement for that class.


Student absences and cancellations due to conflict in schedule or illness should be handled in the following manner: Please give your instructor as much notice as you can for a scheduling conflict, at least by 24 hours before lesson. In case of illness, please contact both your instructor and the Arts Center 253-4000 no later than 10 am the morning of the lesson. One make-up lesson per term (Fall,Winter,Spring, Summer) is allowed for properly reported absences.  No credits or refunds are available for lessons that are cancelled by students. Cancellations by the instructor will be made-up at a mutually convenient time
Tardiness:   Students who are late for a lesson cannot be guaranteed their lesson time. Faculty will wait for a student for one-third of the scheduled lesson duration; students are requested to do the same.

Snow Policy & Inclement Weather

In the event of inclement weather check the blog, website or call the Asheville Arts Center (828-253-4000) for closing information. If you are enrolled in a class that begins before 3 pm, a decision will be posted by 8:30 am; for classes starting after 3 pm a decision will be posted by 1 pm. Instruction missed because of inclement weather cannot be made up.


Students are accepted into the Asheville Arts Center for an 18-week semester. Registration and tuition are due by your first class of each term as detailed on your registration form, unless you have established a payment plan.  By signing or initialing the registration form, students or their parent/guardian acknowledge they have read and accepted tuition and refund policy and take responsibility for paying the cost of full tuition for the term for which they have registered.

Liability Release

I understand that performing arts and related activities may present a risk of injury to the participant. I further understand that the inherent risk of injury cannot be eliminated regardless of the care taken to avoid injury. I agree to assume that risk in order to participate in these activities.

The undersigned acknowledges that the participant is in good health and does not have any history or a medical or physical condition that would place the participant at risk due to the participant’s medical or physical condition.

I do hereby release and forever discharge the Asheville Arts Center, their predecessors and successors, employees, agents and assigns, and all other persons, corporations, and entities from all claims, expenses, attorney fees, and causes of action or suits of any kind or nature associated with the participant’s involvement with the Asheville Arts Center.
